about

‘Fiction’ is the debut single from Tint Dyno. Coming together through the Bristol music scene, Emily Gardiner and Tom Kuras began Tiny Dyno during lockdown 2020. The duo discovered a unique connection, combining the infectious tones of pop with an underlying sense of anxiety. ‘Fiction’ beautifully demonstrates this, combining Kuras’ incredible ear for Lo-Fi synth pop with a haunting and powerful lead vocal from Gardiner. Mixed by Massive Attack collaborator/producer Robot Club, ‘Fiction’ is woven to express a feeling of cathartic release on the everyday suffering of social anxiety.

lyrics

Feel like I've been here before, I've got that feeling in my chest
An erupting volcano, it never seems to rest
Simply wood, simply wood
Simply knocking at the door
A greeting from a stranger, a message to ignore

Ignore, Ignore, Ignore

You won’t change what’s gone before
I know you always wanted more

Feeling keen to runaway
There's nothing to hide
Just a legacy of fiction, an abundance of lies
They had no choice, I was simply frozen
I don't want to be that girl, didn’t know that I was broken

You won’t change what’s gone before
I know you always wanted more
(Delirious, not giving up)

Ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore

You won’t change what’s gone before
I know you always wanted more

You won’t change what’s gone before
I know you always wanted more

Didn’t know that I was broken
Didn’t know that I was broken
Can you sell me one more token
